FORM BASED CODE

  • Stop the Form Based Code and oversized development, and maintain the scale and character of our town.

  • Ensure new development contributes to the tax base with no subsidy by single family homeowners.

  • Put the community first in the revitalization of the Chappaqua Hamlet, creating a planned, shared, sustainable vision that supports a vibrant downtown and diverse, affordable housing options.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including the Chappaqua Central School District to minimize adverse impacts to our infrastructure, schools and class sizes.

MILLWOOD & THE WEST END

Focus on maintaining the environmental diversity and enhancing the communities of Millwood and the West End, beginning with the completion of the Millwood sidewalk and Millwood Park projects. Reinvigorate the Millwood/West End Advisory Board and institute direct and regular communication with the MWEAB.

AIRPORT IMPACT

  • Strongly advocate for New Castle in reducing air traffic over our town.

  • Find solutions to address the concerns of New Castle residents regarding the noise, environmental, health and safety, economic and quality of life concerns of our community stemming from the Westchester County Airport.

  • Actively pursue mitigation strategies including, but not limited to, flight path dispersion and the I-684 runway approach.

ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY

New Castle has been at the forefront of environmentally-friendly legislation in New York, and we will continue that legacy by working with the Town Sustainability Advisory Board to develop initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate, like installation of solar carports and the development of an attainable green building code.

DAILY LIFE

The big issues are important, but it’s the little things that impact us all every day. We will ensure that we solve for those issues that impact each of us directly and daily like filling potholes, paving roads, keeping our town and parks safe and clean, beautifying our hamlets, increasing programming for residents of all ages, advocating for constituents during power outages, helping residents find the services they need, and solving problems important to you.

We have started a virtual community compliment box!

These days we see too many problems stemming from disrespect, cyber-bullying, and closed-mindedness. We believe that simple acts of kindness can go a long way to making all our neighbors feel loved and welcomed in our community.

We hope that Kindness in the Castle becomes a way of life here in New Castle … for the town you want to live in. Please write a kind thought about a local neighbor, employee, event, or business.
